H.E.L.P. House Family Shelter - Hampton Roads Ecumenical Lodgings and Provisions, Inc.

H.E.L.P. House Family Shelter is a five bedroom, 22 bed shelter providing support to those in crisis.  A screening for occupancy is taken by the Housing Case manager.  Referrals are taken from all partnering agencies, member congregations and United Way First Call.  Clients are put on a strict case management plan and employment within 30 days is expected.  Residents are required to participate in case management, meetings, housing meetings, performs daily chores and room inspections, actively participate in educational programs, and adhere to a budget plan.

Next step is to enter into Transitional Housing.  This is  for families who graduate from H.E.L.P. House and "A Night's Welcome" winter emergency shelters.
The HELP Family Shelter can accommodate up to five families at one time.  Any person requesting shelter information must first call First Call:

Call in Referral.  A service offered by the United Way of the Virginia Peninsula.  United Way First Call acts as a link between what you may need and what is available in the community.  United Way also has information about support groups, community and agency services and general information to answer your questions.  This service is for Peninsula residents (Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, and York County).
